Funcom announced restructuring and layoffs as it transitions from development to post-launch operations for Dune: Awakening. The studio cited the need to reduce organizational size following the console release of the game, which included a new single-player mode.
Rui Casais, who is leaving after 22 years, stated the company cannot sustain its peak development structure during the post-launch phase. Funcom also appointed Scott Junior as new CEO, who previously led Dune: Awakening's development.
