How RevealedNews makes money
Last updated 29 July 2026.
Short version: affiliate commission on the gear we link to. When a hardware story mentions a GPU, a keyboard, or any other product, you may see a “Gear in this story” section with links to buy it. If you buy through one of those links, the retailer may pay us a percentage. It costs you nothing extra - the price is the same as if you had typed the URL in yourself.
Affiliate links
Every “Gear in this story” rail carries its own disclosure, above the buy links rather than buried in small print at the bottom of the page. Stories with no attached products carry no rail and no notice, because a disclosure on a page with nothing to disclose just trains readers to skip past it. Here is that same notice:
Why there are no Amazon prices here
You will notice Amazon links have no price next to them. That is deliberate.
Amazon’s Associates Operating Agreement only permits showing a product’s price when it came from Amazon’s own API or Data Feed. The API that used to let sites like this pull live prices lawfully, PA-API, was retired on 15 May 2026, and we have not integrated its successor (the Creators API). So we hold no lawful source for an Amazon price, and we don’t type one in by hand either - a hand-entered price is a violation of the agreement regardless of whether the number is accurate, and it is a good way to lose the account.
The site enforces this in the software, not just in policy: an Amazon retailer cannot be switched to show prices unless a lawful price source is actually configured. Until then, Amazon is a link partner only. If we do integrate the Creators API, Best Buy’s prices come first - its Products API is free and ungated, and that is planned but not yet built.
Editorial independence
Products are chosen because they fit the story - a GPU review links to that GPU, a keyboard piece links to that keyboard. Commission never decides what gets covered, what a story says about a product, or which retailer appears first. We don’t take payment for placement, and we don’t accept copy approval from a retailer or manufacturer in exchange for a link.
Questions
If a link on the site looks off, or a price seems stale, tell us - the fastest way is a reply on the story itself.
