Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar North technical director, stated that an AI-powered PC port of GTA 6 would require significant resources, estimating costs of tens of thousands of dollars in tokens. He noted that while the effort would be substantial, the demand for the game might drive individuals to attempt it despite the challenges.
Vermeij also suggested that the potential for unofficial ports could pressure Rockstar to release GTA 6 on PC sooner than planned. He highlighted concerns about AI tools enabling third parties to adapt the PS5 version for PC, which might impact sales or prompt the studio to accelerate an official release.
