Nintendo's blind auditions for the Switch 2 remake led to an accidental casting of the same actor who voiced Navi in the 1998 original, as reported by Eurogamer. The director of the remake, HokWai Ng, stated the team aimed to preserve iconic sounds like Navi's "Listen!" to maintain nostalgic connections.
Series director Eiji Aonuma confirmed the team sought actors matching the original's voice characteristics, with one participant coincidentally being the same performer from the Nintendo 64 version. A leaked video now shows Kaori Mizuhashi, who voiced Navi in the Japanese version, returning after 28 years.
