Google's Made by Google event takes place later this week, bringing the reveal of the next generation of Pixel devices. Expected announcements include the four-device Pixel 11 series, the Pixel Watch 5, and possibly a Pixel Tag Bluetooth tracker, based on rumors.
The event will be livestreamed on YouTube via the official Made By Google account, with the livestream also embeddable elsewhere. It begins on August 12 at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. BST and will take place in New York. The YouTube livestream includes a notification alert feature so viewers won't miss the start. This year's show will be hosted by Trevor Noah, with appearances by multiple celebrities, a departure from last year's event, which was hosted by Jimmy Fallon and mixed phone reveals with talk-show elements.
The biggest expected news is the Pixel 11 series, made up of four phones: the standard Pixel 11, the more powerful Pixel 11 Pro, the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Leaks so far don't point to major surprises, with expected upgrades including better cameras, improved chips, and more exclusive AI software. Base storage is expected to rise to 256GB across all models, which could also mean higher prices. One notable new feature rumored is called Pixel Glow or HiLight, which would add an RGB LED to the back of the phone to serve as a kind of notification alert.
A new Pixel Watch 5 is also expected, reportedly featuring extra RAM and storage along with additional health features, though its design isn't expected to change much. Less is known about the rumored Pixel Tag, but leaked designs suggest an oval-shaped tracker that would work with Google's Find Hub to help locate items such as bags and keys.
Ahead of the official announcement, Google has already begun encouraging pre-orders. A new landing page on the Google Store is offering an exclusive pre-order deal to people who subscribe to email alerts before the event. The offer is limited to new subscribers, and terms state each promotional code is valid for one discounted Pixel 11 series phone per eligible account, though the exact discount amount isn't specified. The deal is available while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis, with redemption expiring just before midnight on September 1.
