Jon Stewart has extended his contract as host of 'The Daily Show' through December 2028, according to reports. The deal includes Stewart hosting Monday episodes while rotating hosts manage Tuesday through Thursday. Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, and Desi Lydic will continue as rotating hosts.
The renewal follows 'The Daily Show' winning two Emmys in September and achieving an eight-year viewership high. The show's social media channels recorded 1.9 billion views in 2026, making it the most-viewed cable program on social media that year.
The extension comes amid changes in the late-night landscape, including CBS canceling 'The Late Show' and ABC pausing 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'. Skydance TV's George Cheeks praised Stewart's role, stating the partnership would continue, according to the source.
