YouTube and Goldenvoice have extended their exclusive livestream partnership for Coachella through 2030, ensuring YouTube remains the global streaming platform for both festival weekends. The agreement was announced at YouTube's Made on YouTube conference in New York, with CEO Neal Mohan emphasizing the platform's role in bringing the festival's energy to millions of fans worldwide.
The 2026 Coachella livestream set a record for viewership, with YouTube highlighting its evolution from a single feed to an interactive experience. Features like multiview, allowing fans to watch multiple stages simultaneously, and behind-the-scenes content via Shorts have enhanced the virtual festival experience. Artists also gain global exposure, with YouTube noting that livestreams often serve as the only way for non-attendees to see headline acts.
The partnership, now spanning 15 years, will continue to expand with new tools for viewers and creators. YouTube's Lyor Cohen emphasized ongoing efforts to innovate, including AI-driven features and enhanced creator access. The 2027 festival will mark the 15th anniversary of YouTube's Coachella streams, with plans to further integrate interactive elements and global reach for artists.
