Colorful has introduced the iGame X870E Vulcan W OC, a new flagship AM5 motherboard aimed at overclockers and enthusiasts. It follows the earlier iGame X870E Vulcan OC launched earlier this year, but adopts a completely white color scheme with an iridescent finish that produces rainbow-like reflections shifting with viewing angle and lighting, according to TechPowerUp. Wccftech notes the board has recently gained attention for its RAM overclocking capability, having pushed CXMT DDR5 memory to 9000 MT/s.
At the core of the board is an 18+2+2 phase 110A DrMOS power design paired with a graphics card-inspired heat pipe and fin cooling system, built on a 10-layer server-grade PCB. TechPowerUp adds that the PCB uses immersion gold and back-drilling to reduce signal loss and interference. The board includes two DDR5 DIMM slots; Wccftech states the board supports memory speeds up to 10600 MT/s, while TechPowerUp specifies that supported speeds vary by CPU generation: DDR5-8800+ MT/s with Ryzen 9000, DDR5-10600+ MT/s with Ryzen 8000, and DDR5-8000+ MT/s with Ryzen 7000 processors.
For overclocking, both sources describe dedicated controls including a Debug Display, BIOS switch, and BCLK adjustment. TechPowerUp additionally mentions a one-click overclocking button intended to make tuning more accessible to beginners. Both sources note support for Colorful's X3D AI High Frame Rate Mode, with the board specifically optimized for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor. Near the DIMM slots, the board includes an onboard iGame Smart LCD for hardware monitoring and customization; TechPowerUp specifies this display is 268x800 pixels.
On storage and connectivity, both sources agree the board supports PCIe 5.0 x4 and PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 interfaces. TechPowerUp provides more detail, stating there are five M.2 slots total—two supporting PCIe 5.0 x4 and three supporting PCIe 4.0 x4. For I/O, Wccftech broadly mentions several high-speed USB ports including Type-C with Power Delivery and Alt DP support, while TechPowerUp offers specifics: nine front-panel USB ports including a USB-C 20 Gbps port with 60W Power Delivery, plus two rear USB4 Type-C ports at 40 Gbps supporting 4K display output.
Colorful has set a suggested retail price of ¥3,999 RMB for the iGame X870E Vulcan W OC. Wccftech converts this to approximately $594, while TechPowerUp lists it as approximately $600. Neither source has disclosed a release or availability date for the motherboard.
