According to Wccftech, a Redditor going by u/Antrodemus shared on the PC Master Race subreddit that he found an MSI AEGIS Gaming ZS2 on a Costco display shelf. The system was listed at $2,800 but was reduced to $2,300 with a rebate. The build includes an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X CPU (12 Zen 5 cores, 24 threads), an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage. Wccftech notes the CPU alone costs near $330 and the RTX 5080 starts around $1,300, with the RAM and storage adding about $800 combined — putting core component costs already near $2,400, before accounting for a 360mm AIO cooler, PSU, and case, which the outlet says pushes the value to $2,700–$2,800.

Because the unit was missing a bundled keyboard (MSI typically includes a keyboard and mouse with some pre-builts), Costco knocked off another $500, according to Wccftech. After tax, the final price came to about $1,900 — a $900 reduction from the original listed price of $2,800.

Separately, Tom's Hardware reported on a Woot deal for the MSI Codex R2, a different pre-built featuring an Intel Core i5-14400F (10 cores, six performance and four efficiency, boosting up to 4.7 GHz), an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 with 6,144 CUDA cores and 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM on a 192-bit bus, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The outlet says this system was marked down to $1,399.99, a $900 discount off its list price, and noted the deal was time-limited, with less than a day left to purchase at the time of writing and an expectation it would sell out quickly.

Tom's Hardware describes the RTX 5070 as a strong 1440p option that supports Nvidia's DLSS 4 upscaling and multi-frame generation, and states it ranks as the outlet's pick for best all-round Nvidia GPU from its current generation, sitting above the RTX 4070 but below the RTX 5070 Ti. The two deals differ significantly in GPU tier, price, and retailer — Costco's RTX 5080 system landed near $1,900 after in-store adjustments, while Woot's RTX 5070 system was priced at $1,399.99 — and neither source references the other's offer.
