Leaked gameplay footage from Grand Theft Auto 6 that circulated in late August 2026 showed player character Jason Duval walking through an uncensored nudist resort area, at one point using binoculars to zoom in on nude NPCs before an altercation occurs. According to Polygon and Kotaku, the leaks — attributed to a leaker known as Cyberleek — quickly led fans to identify a real-world inspiration: Cypress Cove Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, a nudist retreat that has operated since 1964 and describes itself as family-friendly.
Cypress Cove has expanded over the decades to include pools, a villa-style hotel, a lakeside restaurant, a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, and kayaking, and it holds strong ratings on Google (4.6 stars) and Trip Advisor (4.7 stars) from more than a thousand reviews, per Polygon.
Following the leaks, both outlets report that fans began leaving joke reviews referencing GTA 6 details such as "Jason Duval," "Lucia," binoculars, and an unspecified "incident," phrased in ways that made it sound as though real misconduct had occurred at the resort. One review cited by Polygon read, "Had a great time until a man pulled out his binoculars," while another vaguely referenced "the incident that occurred in August."
The resort's owners responded publicly, calling the reviews spam and alleging that some of the posts were tied to demands for payment in exchange for removing or changing them. In a widely quoted reply, Cypress Cove stated it had documented the reviews and the alleged payment request, said it would not pay or negotiate, and was reporting the activity through appropriate channels. The response also included a pointed joke referencing the game's fictional setting, noting that "Cypress Cove is located in Florida — not Leonida."
Kotaku reported that, as of its writing, none of the reviews containing alleged payment threats remained visible, suggesting the resort had succeeded in getting Google to remove them. Despite the prank wave, both outlets note that Cypress Cove's overall rating remains positive, with genuine reviewers describing it as a welcoming, family-oriented environment. Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the nudist resort as part of GTA 6 or acknowledged any real-world inspiration for the location.
