Sony and Sucker Punch Productions have announced Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition, a new version of the 2025 action-adventure game launching for PS5 on October 1, 2026. The announcement was made via the official PlayStation Blog, and according to GamesRadar+, the edition will also be available on physical disc.
The centerpiece addition is a new story expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara. Sony describes it as split between the present day and flashbacks to protagonist Atsu's time on the mainland. In the present, players will explore a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and his followers, the Vipers, alongside a new character named Nagato. The flashback segments will let players experience Atsu's time in the Battle of Sekigahara, described as a key moment in her life before she began her quest for vengeance. The expansion adds new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes.
Also launching October 1 is Most Wanted, a single-player combat survival mode that Sucker Punch describes as its take on a roguelike. Players accept bounties to begin runs, and defeating enemies unlocks perks and additional playable characters. According to Polygon, each unlockable character specializes in a specific weapon type, with Atsu using dual katana, Oyuki the kusarigama, and Nagato the yari. Eurogamer compared the mode to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's No Return mode.
The Complete Edition will cost $69.99 and includes everything previously available in the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Charm of Hokkyokusei, online co-op mode Legends, new Watanabe Mode tracks, new photo mode stamps, additional New Game Plus cosmetics, and new trophies for both add-ons. Players who buy the Complete Edition before September 30 will also receive the Sakai Armor, inspired by Jin's armor from Ghost of Tsushima. Those who purchase before October 1 get immediate access to the base game and Legends, with Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara unlocking on release day. Owners of the base game can upgrade for $14.99 (£11.99).
Even players who don't buy the Complete Edition will get a free patch on October 1. It adds a Beauty of Yotei mode that cycles through shots of the game's environments, a transmog-style feature letting players keep an armor set's appearance while using a different set's stats, and a high contrast accessibility option. Sucker Punch says it will share more details on the story expansion and roguelike mode ahead of launch.
