Reviewers cited a range of issues, most centered on technical problems rather than core gameplay, including poor performance relative to graphical fidelity, unsatisfying voice acting, unpredictable aiming mechanics, buggy gameplay, and login issues tied to an always-online requirement. Many reviewers reportedly suggested Halo: The Master Chief Collection—which bundles six Halo games for less than the cost of Campaign Evolved—as an alternative.
