Halo: Campaign Evolved, the latest big-budget release from Microsoft, is now available on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms, according to Eurogamer.

Digital Foundry tested the game across Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PS5 Pro, finding that it runs well on all of them. The Xbox Series S shares broadly similar visual characteristics with the Series X thanks to Unreal Engine 5 tech and Lumen Reflections, though its internal resolution sits around 720p with consistent performance.

On Xbox Series X, differences between the 60fps performance mode and 30fps quality mode are minimal, though performance mode sacrifices some foliage and shadow detail and looks softer overall. Internal resolution comes in at 1224p in performance mode and 1440p in quality mode.

Comparing PS5 to Xbox Series X, Digital Foundry found the two nearly identical in both performance and quality modes, with only minor differences in shadows and fine details, calling them at parity for image quality and presentation. However, cutscene stuttering seen on both Xbox Series S and Series X was absent on PS5, giving it a more cohesive experience.

The PS5 Pro delivers the best overall experience, with PSSR producing a noticeably sharper, cleaner image that reduces anti-aliasing artifacts seen on other platforms, along with smoother image quality and frame rates than the base PS5.

Eurogamer also notes a bug affecting the assault rifle's fire rate and accuracy that appears to make the weapon perform worse on PlayStation than on other platforms. Overall, aside from that issue, PlayStation owners seem to get the best experience from Halo: Campaign Evolved. A separate IGN article referenced where to buy the game, but its content was not accessible for this report.
