Exophase, a database that tracks trophies and achievements across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, began posting what appeared to be achievement lists for a large number of unreleased and even unannounced games. The listings reportedly included Persona 6, Kingdom Hearts IV, Deus Ex Remastered, Horizon Hunters Gathering, Judas, Fable, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Attack on Titan 3, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Stranger Than Heaven, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and Control Resonant, among others.
Exophase owner Mike Bendel addressed the situation on a ResetEra thread, saying the appearance of these achievement lists was likely a mistake on Valve's end rather than a leak from his own site. He explained that games with achievements that should be private became accessible through Steam's API, and that his site automatically scanned them in, sometimes labeling unnamed games only by their Steam AppID when no title was available.
The Kingdom Hearts IV listings drew particular attention because Square Enix has so far only confirmed that the game will include a world based on Pixar's Coco. The achievement data, however, suggested additional worlds, including ones seemingly tied to Haunted Mansion, Star Wars, Zootopia, and Toy Story, along with Kingdom Hearts-specific locations and other entries whose real-world inspirations were less clear. Reddit users reportedly used the achievements to corroborate a previously circulated rumor about which Disney properties would appear in the game.
Persona 6 also emerged as a major surprise, since Atlus has released only a teaser trailer for the game and has not shown any actual gameplay footage. The achievement descriptions apparently included details that could reveal story beats, prompting spoiler warnings from outlets covering the leak. Achievement lists said to belong to Persona 4 Revival, a game still months from release, also surfaced in the same wave.
Other reported findings included a listing suggesting Thief: The Dark Project Remastered will include a new campaign, and a possible Steam listing tied to Squadron 42, the singleplayer component of Star Citizen. One listing was initially speculated to be a Balatro-related project, but Balatro creator localthunk denied any connection, stating the only project in development is a content update for Balatro and that other developers frequently emulate its visual style.
Coverage of the incident noted that the leaked information remains unverified, and outlets reaching out to Square Enix, Atlus, and Valve had not received comment by the time of publication. The scale of the exposure was compared to the 2021 Nvidia leak, assuming the achievement data proves accurate.
