Acer has announced two new laptops aimed at portable performance: the Swift Blade 14, a new sub-brand for the company's Swift line, and the 16-inch Swift Air 16. Both machines run Windows 11 and use Intel's Wildcat Lake chips, up to a Core 7 processor 350. The announcements came ahead of the IFA trade show, according to Tom's Hardware.
The Swift Blade 14 weighs 799 grams and is as thin as 12.9 mm (measured by PCWorld at 0.51 inches thick), achieved through a chassis combining magnesium-aluminum alloy and carbon fiber. It will be available in marshmallow blue and marshmallow white. Wccftech and PCWorld both describe it as potentially the lightest 14-inch laptop yet, with Wccftech comparing it to the 990-gram Asus Zenbook A14 and 975-gram Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura, and PCWorld noting that while the smaller 13.3-inch Fujitsu Lifebook UH-X is lighter overall, the Swift Blade 14 may be the lightest in the 14-inch category specifically.
Specs for the Swift Blade 14 include 12 GB of LPDDR5 memory, up to 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, and a 50 Wh battery. Wccftech reports that battery life could reach nearly 20 hours, while PCWorld notes a similarly configured Wildcat Lake laptop it reviewed managed over 12 hours looping 4K video, though it also observed that the Core 7 350 chip is not especially powerful based on prior testing. Display options include a 3K (2880x1800) OLED panel with up to 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and up to 90 Hz refresh rate, alongside 1920x1200 OLED and IPS alternatives, all in a 16:10 aspect ratio with slim 4.3 mm bezels. Connectivity includes three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3, along with a 1080p webcam with a camera switch. Acer has not announced pricing; Wccftech speculates a top configuration could reach around $1,200 based on comparable Wildcat Lake laptops.
The Swift Air 16 is positioned as a larger, higher-powered companion, built for both work and entertainment. It uses up to a Core 7 350 processor with up to 40 platform TOPS via a dedicated NPU, paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 512 GB of storage. It weighs 1.5 kg and is as thin as 13.3 mm, with an all-aluminum chassis available in elemental blue, sage green, or sandstone gold. It includes a backlit keyboard, a 70 Wh battery capable of fast-charging to 50% in 30 minutes via a 100 W adapter, quad speakers with DTS Virtual:X audio, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, an IR webcam, and Wi-Fi 6E. Display options include OLED (up to 500 nits, 120 Hz) or an IPS panel with multi-touch support, both up to WQXGA+ (2880x1800) resolution.
Sources note that a 14-inch Swift Air model was previously launched at Computex 2026 and is already available in some countries; the new Swift Air 16 builds on that design with additions such as an OLED display option and quad-speaker audio. Tom's Hardware adds that in the US, the 14-inch Swift Air ultimately shipped only in the sage colorway.
On availability, TechPowerUp and Tom's Hardware report the Swift Blade 14 will arrive in EMEA in December 2026, while the Swift Air 16 will launch in EMEA in December 2026 and in North America in the first quarter of 2027. PCWorld notes that Acer has not disclosed a US ship date or price for the Swift Blade 14, citing ongoing memory and storage shortages as a factor in availability uncertainty.
