In hands-on testing by Tom's Guide on a Galaxy Z Fold 8, the feature worked well, processed clips within seconds, and could even be applied to older videos already saved in the gallery, not just new footage.
The reviewer compared My FanCam's tracking to Apple's Center Stage, noting the key difference is that Samsung's version works on pre-recorded video rather than live calls, and it can track multiple people within the same clip. Users select an aspect ratio and tap on a detected subject before exporting the new tracked video. Wccftech noted that even phones with vapor chambers and active cooling fans, such as the REDMAGIC 11 Pro, have shown the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 entering thermal throttling under heavy load, raising concerns about the Z Fold 8 Ultra's graphite-only solution combined with its confined chassis. The report suggested that in humid conditions, even basic tasks like photo or video capture could lead to throttling, and that emulating demanding games would likely see frequent frame rate dips, though more common tasks like video streaming were expected to run fine.
